This Conference is open to postgraduate research students from all East Midlands Universities. It follows the very successful EMUA Conference at Loughborough University in September 2009 which attracted around 100 participants. This year the Conference has a broad title in order to appeal to a very wide spectrum of research interests including the social sciences, the arts, humanities, sciences and technology.

The programme includes a keynote talk from Professor Steve Goodhew, Professor of Sustainable Technology at Nottingham Trent University

The themes for the conference focus on the way in which your research informs a societal perspective; relating to health, culture or the environment. These themes are:

  • New Perspectives
  • Residential building and the Environment
  • The Health and Welfare of the Elderly
  • The interplay between Culture and Lifestyle

This year, in addition to the opportunity to attend, PGR students are invited to present short 10 minute papers and posters on their research. A small number of PGR students will also have the opportunity to chair a session and to take part in the selection of papers to be included in their session.

This conference offers a tremendous opportunity to network and meet other postgraduate students from across the region.

There is no conference fee but once you register, please regard this as a commitment to attend. We will levy a charge in respect of no-shows.
